I just learned of this web site. I am a direct descendant of William Chesebrough who founded Stonington, Connecticiut in 1649. I've had the pleasure of visiting Wequetequock Cove and seeing the burying-ground and all the tombstones. My great-grandfather Alonzo came from Niagara Falls to Toledo in the 1870s, raised 4 sons: Fremont, Abram and Frank (my grandfather - twins), and Aaron. They formed the Chesbrough Brothers Lumber Company in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan in 1887, and logged the white pine until the brothers split up in 1912. Frank's sons, William (my father) and Erwin set up the Wilwin Lumber Company in 1915, and it carried on until 1925. The lodge that they built, Wilwin, remained in the Chesbrough family until 1963. We built a cottage on Lake Michigan in 1968, and have summered there ever since.
I want to learn more about the Reunion in 2009. Keep me in the loop!

The Denison Society today. It appears to be directed to those who visited
the Denison Homestead but have not yet joined the society. I, however,

Hello! I have seen many posts already questioning if this reunion is still occurring & if so, when? I receive regular e-mail Newsletters from the Burdick Family website & the most recent stated this:
"In the last [Burdick Family] Newsletter I mentioned that I did not know if next year's large multi-family [Ultimate Family] reunion to commemorate the 360th anniversary of the founding [families] of Stonington, CT in 1649 was still being planned.
