It has been a very long and trying year.

May 5, 2007

This has been long over due and my apologies for it. As
most of you know I left my husband back in June and moved
to Elizabethtown, Kentucky. It has taken me quite a while
to get some what settled from MO to my brothers and then
into my own place. The first job didn't work out so well,
Howard, remember 3 Putt Willies?. Sorry we didn't meet
while you still lived here.
Needless to say, starting over again at my age has been
quite the challenge. I just started a new job a few weeks
ago when I found out that my mother was not doing very
well. After talking with her, I decided that I had to go be
with her. Two hours after driving 10 hours to get there we
had to rush her to the hospital. I know where I get my
hard-headedness and strength from. She fought for over two
weeks until she passed last week. In the meantime the new
job that I just started had to let me go.
My apologies to all of you who have emailed me without an
answer. As some of you know I would have responded within a
few hours to a couple of days at the most. I have not given
up on the reunion at all. I just haven't had the time or
energy for it. I will eventually get back on my feet and do
more with it and all of your emails. As far as the U. F. R.
products, I am still not totally crammed into the apartment
I moved into. So I am unable to get them together and get
them to you at this point. Please bear with me a little
longer on this.
What a zoo the guest book and message boards have become.
It's almost a full time job just to delete all the garbage
that some pathetic people are posting on them. I have no
way of stopping them short of taking both items off the
site which I really don't want to do. Again some patience
with this as well. A "cousin" out there said that he might
be able to help with this, we will see what can be done if
anything.
Now that it is only 2 years away I will be making contact
with different places (as far as accommodations go)
Societys, people, etc. I have made many contacts but trying
to arrange anything 3 years in advance was fruitless. At
last count there were close to 500 people who have some
interest in attending! It continues to grow month by month.
Again, if you are interested in attending, it would be
helpfull in having your home address and phone numbers just
in case either one of my computers decides to crash. These
will never be used for anything but making contact with you
about the reunion. Thanks to the ones whom have already
done this.
I noticed on the message board and guest book that some
have posted questions for others, but have not left an
email in which to get back in contact with them. If you
have a question or other information you would like to
share you need to include your email address. I know some
are leary of this because of phishing and spammers out
there. You can always spell it out completely such as
"donna at ultimatefamilyreunion dot com". That way it makes
it almost impossible for them to "see" it. But then again I
am no geek and don't understand how most of it works
anyway, just glad it does!
My brain has pretty much turned into mush after the last
few weeks so I really don't have much to say. Again my
apologies, and a little more patience with me until I find
employment and grieve over my mother's death.
